The aims of educational robotics are:

• Combining play with knowledge
• The combination of experimentation and play with knowledge.
• The socialization of children within the group regardless of their rate of response to learning.
• Learning through the cooperative process.
• Free expression, development of creativity and imagination.
• The cultivation of children’s verbal expression during the group function.

The robotics kits utilized, are the most widespread programmable lego robots, used in children of pre-primary/ primary school age. The aim is for children to program the robot’s movements. Through this process, which is learner-centred, children are free:

• to discuss
• to propose
• to choose
• to negotiate
• test
• check the results of their choices
• evaluate the right and wrong aspects of their solution (metacognitive skills, analytical and synthetic thinking).

In other words, children evaluate, construct, check and change their conceptual structures through their interaction with the world.

Our workshops have a strictly small number of participants (4 students) to ensure that they have the peace of mind they need to create and learn.
